If he has a chance to bring Rodney over and keep the best equipment in the sport... It's a no-brainer in my opinion. But Rodney's contract is a bit more concrete than Kevin's at this point (Unless there's a manufacturer clause in it somewhere) . We'll just have to wait and see how it all works out. I did find it interesting that they mentioned Kevin hasn't worked out a new contract with SHR at this point. I admit, I know he has a Personal Services Deal with Chevy (which is why I have yet to hear him actually say the word "Ford" in any interview), but I don't know how long that contract is for... It's interesting and agonizing at the same time watching it all develop. Hopefully he'll keep driving the bowties....

Harve may say all the politically correct things in his interviews...but deep down with all his success lately and waiting so long to have it, you know he has a couple "WTF's" running through his head!

shr may have to fork out some more $$$ to keep him when he negotiates this deal, you know hendricks will offer a lot. But I also don't like the idea of playing 3rd fiddle in line at hendricks. Jr is the fan favorite for yrs, 6 time gets recognized and I believe first dibs on equipment because he is quote '6 time'. At shr, he's top dog, Rodney's had experience with Ford b4, so it might work there too. All contracts can be met and broken with enough $$$.

He was supposed to be playing second fiddle to tony. Without Kevin SHR is nothing. Just look at the other 3 cars records. Without Kevin, Kurt is not running well. You know they are using Kevin's sets and he wouldn't have them if he wasn't there. Harvick would easily be even with Johnson. Was 48 second fiddle to 24? Look how that worked out. Jimmies good but without chads strategery he's no better than what Kevin's been in the same equipment.

Good point, I think he played 2nd to Gordon for his 1st and 2nd year, that's it then it was all Jimmy. I know one thing, this topic is going to go on until Kevin decides what is really best for him.

Ok I am putting in my 2 cents here.. you knew I would LOL.. First off all this talk about Kevin going to henderick next year.. I really do not want to see Kevin go to the Hendrick camp.. I would rather him stay with SHR and drive a ford, reason being he would be given the junk like Kane is getting now. Their Golden children in that camp are Jr and JJ and anyone else is just there... Although Chase Elliot will be a contender he just still has a lot of growing to do. I am sure if we knew Kevin's real thoughts on the move to Ford he is not really a happy camper. I just do not want to see him lose Rodney as a crew cheif because he is the best crew chief Kevin has ever had! I just hope Kevin is not thinking about retiring...

New info coming out. Just rumors but. Kimi Raikkonem to SHR in 17'. That would mean one current SHR driver would have to leave and Clint is already taking Tony's ride.

Even though I would love to see Harvick stay in Hendrick equipment some how and maintain Childers as the chief, Stewart/Hass will do what ever they can also to keep him. Harvick and Childers are that organization, even Busch and Gibson aren't going to run as well without Childers there.

Rodney tweeted awhile ago that Kevin will be the last driver he ever is crew chief for, so I think he must have something in his contract that he stays with Kevin

Found on Jayski
GM exec says Chevy's success forced Ford to get Stewart-Haas: Mark Kent, GM's director of racing, has described Ford's joining forces with Stewart-Haas Racing in 2017 as a "bold move" but has pledged support to the team to season's end. Kent told Motorsport.com: "Ford hasn't won a drivers' or manufacturers' championship in over a decade. So obviously they've been looking at Chevrolet and realizing it takes great teams and great depth to be able to win championships. We've been able to win the last 13 manufacturers' titles and nine of the last 11 drivers' championships. So Ford realized they had to do something. They made a bold move." While Kent acknowledged the achievements of SHR, he stated that the team's use of Hendrick Motorsports equipment had also made the team susceptible to outside offers. "Satellite teams are obviously the easiest takeover candidates," he observed, "because they don't build their own chassis, don't build their own engines and so it's easier for them to switch alliances.(Motorsport)(3-25-2015)

What if he just retires? .....Don't really think that will happen though lol "Retirement"? My opinion on Harvick retiring is this, If Ole Harve could keep running competitive the way he is right now I think he would race for another 5 + seasons, He's absolutely loving it! But and thats a big but, if he starts struggling in the future to be competitive like some of the past years at RCR, well I think he's accomplished his main goal and made plenty of money he would just hang it up. Harvick is a dedicated family man and very buisness savvy so we would probably just see him in those roles. I know it will be a bad day for me when that time comes, I just hope someone like him with his passion, racing style, attitude and caliber shows up in nascar for me to root for. I know im beating a dead horse here but this is another reason why im upset with this manufacturer change, im not just upset because im a Chevrolet fan, Im upset because I think they already have the perfect recipe and this move jeopardizes that, when you change the ingredients it wont taste the same...

Just a couple of weeks ago Kevin said he and Delana work with five year plans. He said something like next year starts their next 5 year plan and he plans on racing through it. That's the plan anyways but things could change in a couple of years. I was guessing it would be three maybe four more years before I heard his comments about 5.
