I think Rodney signed a five-year contract extension last year and Kahne is signed through 2018.
Contracts really don't mean much if someone is willing to pay what it takes to get out of them though.

What a great day!! What a job by Kevin. Once Carl got to 2nd so quick I thought there was no way we could hold him off with 75 laps on our tires. Unbelievable job!! That a way Kevin, Rodney and everybody!!

Great job today glad we have that off our chest, but with this package as made the field tighter for sure. Going to be interesting to see how we stack up for the rest of the season.

At the end of the day he led the most laps despite starting toward midpack and was going to win by around two seconds without that caution with five to go.
They may have caught up some but not nearly enough.

On the Kevin staying or leaving subject. I have a bad feeling about this. I mean we have the fastest cars almost every week for the past 2 years and the best crew chief. I don't see why we don't get a straight answer. I know there is a lot of work behind the scenes to prepare for everything. I just do not see Kevin leaving SHR, but the Hendrick talk came from somewhere which makes me nervous. My worst fear is him pulling a Manning on us.

I see your point but it was not till the last run he pulled away from everyone unless of course he was saving a little which is very possible. I am just use to us killing the field in practice just like the 48 use to do, but he is not the top dog no more. We are and I want to stay there. This new package scares me a little. Gibbs as it going on right now.

Yeah greg I was listening to Kyle--(against my better judgement) and he was saying the same thing---says its about the long game now. He beat the crap outta his tires and nothing to give at the end. Commented you have to work the long game into practice....

The SHR to Ford thread has been unlocked--its appropriate we talk about whatever we hear regarding this over there, so other folks can find it. Try not to beat each other up too much over it---everybody is entitled to their opinion on whether this sucks or not. What ever happens will happen and we can't do jack about it!

One thing I really appreciate about Rodney is that he's never satisfied - his post-race media availability said they have a lot of areas to clean up whether it's on the pit box or on pit road or getting the setups better and bringing better cars to the track.
