Glad NASCAR got a big wreck on the last lap at Talladega in the Saturday race after they threw a fake, needless caution to set it up. Did you not see the big hunk of metal sitting on the track?

I didn't honestly, but there was metal all over the track at California, and they said race on, so they get no benefit from me.

Can't see them getting the full distance in today - big complex of storms moving that way from Mississippi.

Throw that car away. Build something with speed instead of handling. Even when he finishes good lately it's because of good pushes from behind. He's never doing the pushing because his plate cars are slow. Someone tell him to get off the bottom and run the middle or high lane. There's a time for the bottom lane and it's called the last 5 laps otherwise it's the worst lane to be in. I know he's a great plate racer but he is very conservative. If you watch his in-car and listen to his engine he is off the gas a lot. Never being aggressive where others are and those others are the ones winning the plate races these days. End rant!

jeez I actually thought the car was OK?.....When he got out front, that car held it own..kept a decent gap without help.

That was definitely one of the most entertaining Talladega races that I've been to in a long time. I don't like the wrecks, but the racing in between was phenomenal! I hated that Kevin got wrecked coming to the line, but that's part of it sometimes.

We were talking about this in chat yesterday - I don't know if he a "great" plate racer, particularly in this pack style. It seems like too often when he is in contention that he is the pusher for the winner and not the pushee. And his avg finish for both places is 15, both among his bottom five tracks. Obviously Daytona 2007 he was pretty masterful but beyond that he never won Talladega outside of the tandem and his other Daytona win in the summer was on the old pavement where handling meant a lot more.

Glad NASCAR got a big wreck on the last lap at Talladega in the Saturday race after they threw a fake, needless caution to set it up. And then they got to call one of their patented fake winners who didn't take the checkered flag first I agree in the old, 'race back to the finish myself' but a couple of near hits on emergency crews stopped that years ago as you all know, being said, they JUST NEED TO BE CONSISTENT. Sometimes they let it play (race) out sometimes like this one, they went to video, and at the exact time the yellow was turned on Elliot was in the lead. But I'm with you, the 48 should have won it.

That was definitely the better of a lot of races for Dega or Daytona except the year of tandem, we were top row just after s/f line and about 5-10 minutes before start engines a nice rain shower just missed the track of turns 1 and 2, thank God for the race God's or it would have been delayed an hour to dry that up. The good racing this time was because of the impending rain. IMO. They were racing to get the lead and keep it for that chance of rain and it being called off.

Sometimes they let it play (race) out sometimes like this one, they went to video, and at the exact time the yellow was turned on Elliot was in the lead. But I'm with you, the 48 should have won it. I was at New Hampshire when Dale Jarret's car was on fire but he couldnt get out cuz they were racing back to the line (he was about 500 feet before the finish). It was pretty bad knowing if he stayed in the car he would most likely get hurt...if he stepped out he was a dead man for sure!.. I mean they were zooming by him at top speed....top and bottom!!! So I get the frustration of the present rule---but it was not arbitrary... (I think that was the same race that caused the pit road speed rule as well..one of Gordon's guys got run over..or he ran over somebody--I forget) As far as Saturday---they did it by the book---I agree they seem to lose that book sometimes--or it has invisible ink! The only thing the seem to be consistent on is inconsistency!!!
