Chassis Information - Chassis No. 4-1009:
Kevin Harvick will pilot the No. 4 Mobil 1 Ford Fusion built on Chassis No. 4-1009 in the Kobalt 400 NASCAR Cup Series event Sunday at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Built new in 2016, Chassis No. 4-1009 made its Cup Series debut at Chicagoland Speedway in Joliet, Illinois, where it started fourth and finished 20th. It made its most recent start at Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth in November, where it started third and finished sixth.
Another car from last year. I thought we might see new one this week after a 2016 car was used at Atlanta. This is the chassis that started off like a rocket at Chicago, got a lap down due to an untimely caution, and could never get back on the lead lap.
I don't remember it being great at Texas, but it wasn't bad. Actually, it put the 3 in the fence, so it can't be that bad.

Speaking of Vegas, they are taking New Hampshire's Chase race next year, meaning the Chase will be comprised of six 1.5 mile race tracks, unless Charlotte goes ahead with that ludicrous idea of making their fall race go on their road course.

Speaking of Vegas, they are taking New Hampshire's Chase race next year, meaning the Chase will be comprised of six 1.5 mile race tracks, unless Charlotte goes ahead with that ludicrous idea of making their fall race go on their road course. I feel kind of indifferent about this. From a business stand point, it makes total sense. The Vegas market is a drastically better market economically for NASCAR and SMI than New Hampshire. However, even though New Hampshire is kind of boring, it has its own uniqueness to it, which I feel we're lacking with the playoffs. We have too many 1.5 mile tracks in the playoffs right now as it is. The Charlotte road course thing is just a band-aid until the timing allows to add a true road course to the schedule. I bet in 3-5 years we'll see Road America on the schedule in the playoffs, and I hope that happens. Road America is the best road course in the country IMO. I absolutely love the Xfinity races there. |

As a native son up here in NH cant tell you how twisted up I am about them taking the fall race!
Bruton smith make a public statement to the Bahr family and Nh that he wasnt buying the track to plunder the dates----fffin lie!
What a slap in the head-- fall racing in NH is da bomb!! I will spend my $$ at my local track like I do all summer!
A real kick in the nuts--- did a rant on dave moody's show yesterday

Pocono does not have the appearance of a great place to watch----Im trying Dover for the first time this fall.. right after the last NH fall race ever.
I will be the one wearing the t-shirt that that says " bruton smith lied to us"
Loudon is a 1/2 hour ride on the Harley---my foliage run... lol

I was up in Boston during race week last July for New Hampshire, and I was going to try to make that race, but never could get everything to work out where I could sneak away for that afternoon. Losing a date at your home track really sucks, but at the end of the day, we're still very fortunate to have racetracks within driving distance to watch the best drivers in the world, and have the freedom to do so as well. Hey, at least you still have one race! That's better than nothing, I suppose. Now, with that being said, if Talladega ever lost a date, you'd probably have to talk me down off the ledge lol. |

I'm actually interested to see what Charlotte comes up with. It's an interesting concept if you can see the entire course from your seats. |

The outside was pretty cool, but once I got inside it was pretty run down. I'd like to see a Phoenix race someday - that track looks pretty cool. |
