A wreck in practice, very unusual for Harv to wreck. Obviously something must have broke. Rodney says the car was awesome in race trim and would have had a good shot at the pole. He also states the backup is just as good, so we will have to see later this morning I guess. Barring getting caught in something flying through the field, I believe they have figured this place out and will be leading laps at some point. 16th in morning practice, a tenth off the pace. The 10 car was 3rd fastest, 41, 4 and 14 were all together on speeds. 7th on 10 lap average. not looking good in final practice.cant make a lap without sliding up the track.the#18 has a rocket tho of course..the #9 looks fast too.looking to be a very boring follow the #18 race ... |

Heard today that this is the first time Harvick needed a backup car since moving to SHR. Rodney says the car is good. I think Kurt hit the wall too and is starting in the back also.

I don't think the weather will cooperate today. They moved the race up to 1 PM but thunderstorms are expected by then.

Not sure or if you can find metrics on this sort of thing but when its all said and done if you throw out all the "death race" restricted plate races were wrecks at out of you hands, I will bet you will find that Harvick has wrecked fewer cars than any other comparable driver in the history of Nascar. A true "Wheelman" This incident was obviously an equipment failure. Do you remember when the 18 tried to hook him into the wall at Darlington, and could not do it? Good times. |

Are you talking about this race ... Shrub pushed Harvicks car after Kevin got out to confront him for hooking him into the wall.... He succeeded in to doing it! It amazes me that Kyle hasn't been parked multiple times already... I do agree... I think he's wrecked less cars than anyone in the garage. |

Two counties in Bristol have closed their schools today to let all kids K-12 in free to the race. Guess that's one way to fill some seats.

Hmmm... in 05, Kevin starts in the back and a M&M sponsored car starts first... Result = WIN! in 18, Kevin starts in the back and a M&M sponsored car starts first... Result will be a WIN! This might work to Harvicks favor... Monday races tend to have less drama. Seems like the drivers just want to get the race in the books as fast as possible. You tend to see a lot of green flag runs... That top groove might have a chance to work in. Yesterday, with all of the stops, I doubt we would have seen it come in as an effective option. |
