He should have short pitted.

Hopefully a new crew chief on this car before the end of the season. Dude is overmatched. His explanation after the race for why he did what he did was mind-alteringly dumb. The 20 didn't have him beat no matter what - they were separated by half a second. Pit before he does and you win the fricking race.

Don't you think that if he would have short pitted Brian France would have thrown another bull shit caution? Seems like your damned if you do damned if you don't. Then you got the 18 stretching a fuel run and makeing it. Probably should have gone into fuel conservation mode as soon as the 54 pitted. However Crooked Brian France would have probably foiled that plan as well. |
