I don't know why everybody's crapping on the pit crew anyway. One guy wears the goat horns for Pocono and it's the crew chief. Amazing, unbelievable, tremendous car done in by beyond woeful strategy at the end of stage two. Jake made an argument for staying out there and keeping the playoff point, but I am 100% in favor of keeping control of the race after the 18 pitted and should have forced their hand into also pitting and not caring about the one playoff point when five was easily attainable for winning the race.
This team's constant need to cede control of races is just staggering. Nobody was beating him unless the team started looking like a monkey humping a doorknob, and alas, that's what happened. With strategy, the ability to clearly get their cars much, much better during the race, and yes the speed of the pit crew, the difference on pit road and the pit box between the 18 and the 4 is a big, huge, massive, glaring advantage for the 18.
I know some will come along and blame Aric and/or his crew chief for the contact on pit road, but Harv should have never been back there in the first place.
