I missed his Radio show this week. What did he say about the NA$CAR Furher? Fascists! Said O'Donnell shouldn't air Nascar's dirty laundry on radio. Apparently O"Donnell is mad at the drivers for trying to get rid of the current qualifying format. Said they sit on pit road to sabotage qualifying. Kevin spoke his mind and to be honest I do believe possibly Nascar worked against Kevin in Bristol to shut him up. It ain't gonna work. After reading Rodney's comments here: m.nascar.com/news-media/2019/04/07/kevin-harvick-starts-from-rear-after-failing-pre-race-inspection-twice/Sounds like they railroaded the 4 Team today. Unfortunate that they were not able to win from 4 laps down, it would have been wonderful to see Harv rub NA$CAR'S noses in their own Shit!

I see a face off on the horizon or a ton of retirements.

That was fun watching Harvick run that! Could have done with out KB getting another silver platter wins! Same deal at Texas last week. Anyway, Harvick was a beast today and I thoroughly enjoyed watch that!
I finally got a chance to watch the Texas race (I know I was there … but I wanted to see it on TV too). I did not realize how empty the stands were. I must have been in the only full section! I would have said maybe 70% full if you called me at the race... On TV it didn't even look like it was 50%. And these ticky-tack penalties have to go away! Really! The 4's "Uncontrolled Tire"! Oh Please! Lets go back to an actual uncontrolled tire as a penalty!
Todays race was a recipe for disaster for NASCAR! One good race wont fix that when it this broke!

Total bummer for having the race start out the way it did, with the car that Kevin had. Still though, it was mighty damn impressive to come back from 4 down to get a top 15 on the lead lap. Overall, really good race. Lots of action and battles for the lead.
I know that the empty stands aren't really a huge hit to NASCAR or Bristol with the money that they draw from TV, but the Bristol area has to make some changes for fans to want to come in, especially for the Spring race. The night race has still had really good attendance the last couple of years I've been.
There are not a lot of hotel options, and the ones you do have jack the prices up during race weekend. Ticket prices are higher than other tracks I go to, and that seems to be consistent with all of the SMI tracks. $145 for a first row seat? C'mon, that's ridiculous. I don't see a whole lot, if any free camping options for Bristol. My home track, Talladega, has tons of free parking and camping - my seats are some of the best in the house, middle of the tri oval directly across from pit road, and are $75 every year and have not changed in price since 2004. Talladega still manages to have tremendous crowds for today's standards for both race weekends, and I believe it's because it doesn't hit the wallet hard like some of the other tracks. They've even partnered with local hotels to provide affordable rates during race weekend - so, if you're thinking about going, go to degarooms.com
Anyways, looking forward to Richmond. Hope you all have a great week!

Hope you all have a great week! Personally, I really don't think ticket prices have much to do with it... At Texas, my seat was $79 (included a scanner) + $59 (pre-race pass). You could bring your own food and BYOB. Parking was free. Hotel we stayed at was 20 minutes away and was $129 a night for a suite. I do travel a bunch and I've seen good rooms from 79 - 250. So 125 was average and we need a suite to sleep 6. The Xfinity race was even cheaper $25 a seat. So, I definitely did not feel ripped off! I didn't even feel gouged at the souvenir tents. That morning on Pit road we where by one of the clean up crew and the back of his XUV was filled with lug nuts. A guy asked him about them and he just said "Go ahead and take them if you want!" BUT, The TV broadcast is so much better. There are things going on at he race I never knew happened until I watched it when I got home. Now TV can't replace the actually being there experience. But, why the huge drop in attendance? [Pre-Apology if I offend someone] * Back to what Kevin said about Dale Jr... One of the biggest fan favorites never won the series Championship. And now he is retired. Were did all of his fans go? I know some stayed. * Who dominated the sport through the 2001 - 2010? You could argue Jimmy Johnson! You might say he's past his prime...but the average age of those fans? Are they Millennials? His fan base? * A dumbed down sport to produce quicker results... the Stages. Allows for multiple winners! Catering to a short attention span fan. * KB winning in what is clearly a leaser/building series. I know the young drivers love it. I don't! But fans like to see their driver run any race they can. I was a little bummed that Kevin didn't run the Xfinity race at Texas. * To many rules that you basically say: "WTF was that for!?" * A line from the lady that sat behind me at Texas... [Begin of the race] "We live for the wrecks!" [End of the race] "Man there were not a lot of cautions!" Hard to argue that point. Texas there were 6. Bristol was 15 or so? These days you see very few blown engines and like Bristol the tracks are raceable … you don't have to bump/move a guy. Biggest issue: A HUGE disconnect between corporate NASCAR and its overall core fan base. Case in point... the 2019 package? All I hear is that the package is horrible and I agree! I heard the same thing after the first race they tried it at. Greatest fear online was that they would actually use it for 2019. Guess what! They did!!!! How/why did they even think that it was going to sit well with a core fan group that clearly didn't like it. NASCAR is listening to the wrong focus groups. Next NASCAR will paint the racing line on the track so all drivers will have equal opportunity.
