Let me be clear that I have been a Harvick fan since he won his first race. Having said that I'm not sure this team deserves to win it all this year. Starting with the comment about pounding the Gibbs cars into the ground, which for the record I found absolutely hilarious and is one of the reasons I like Harvick so much. But Rex Ryan even said this past weekend that he shouldn't have said Buffalo was gonna beat New England and he should have just kept his mouth shut. I feel the same way about Kevin's comment, especially now. Second, why why why would you RISK an ENTIRE SEASON by not pitting when he had that tire rub. To my knowledge the race winner and runner-up were both still a lap down at that point or had just got their lap back. Finish 10th and move on. Sucks yes, Pissed yes, make a grown up decision and win next week. Third, All year long when the faithful fans were so upset with all those 2nd place finishes, and everybody was like, "Calm down, sure does beat finishing 14th all those years",well, an extra 6 or even 9 points would sure help now. Please don't get me wrong, I hope Harvick wins the next 2 races extremely bad, but if he doesn't I really do believe it is no one else's fault. You can only control so much on a race track and stuff happens. The 4 team has made their bed and now they have to sleep in it. I'm really not feeling it, but I hope I'm wrong. One more thing, the last thing we need is for this pit crew to feel pressure.

One more thing, the last thing we need is for this pit crew to feel pressure. All valid points. First off Harv feeds off of controversy. Always has, so his going after number 1 JGR is expected. He justifiably saw Penske as his greatest threat last year and you see how he attacked the 2 and then the 22 in the final round. I love the fact that he spouts off like this. Hindsight is 20/20 and I we all wanted to agree with Tim Fedwa that it was going to fix itself but Rodney has got to demand he come in there, as the way it was initially smoking there's no way it survives. 2 laps would have been the penalty at most. We would have gotten 1 of those back for certain.

right now it doesn't matter what if he pit, what if he moved up a little,or whos ass he kicks or if any of the other "chasers" will have poor finishes, its all about him getting into that "freaky fast" budweiser chevy ss and do what it is he does and win and don't look back, its all behind him now and soon the rest of the "chasers".

Restarts! Restarts! Restarts! The number of races the 4 has lost due to bad/slow restarts! IMO... I blame Joey for that. Yeah JJ was the one who hit Kevin. But the 22 jacked him up big time. 11/18/20/22 all mess with restarts. Nascar needs to start black flagging them. Joey jumped that start... Remember all he has to do is stay in line! So he jacks the 48 up and the rest was history. Kevin needs to start dishing out some of the same... Jack a few of those guys up on the restarts and maybe they'll learn.
Well with the MWR penalty... that's one less spot we have to worry about.

now there is no other option than to win next week. Agreed... If the team needs to be pushed in a corner to finally excel, then they've certainly achieved that goal! Although an average finish of 9th and having never won at Dover doesn't exactly give me a lot of hope... The Off-season could come a lot sooner than I had hoped!

There is a lot of hope for Sunday. Why? Because the last 3 races at Dover they have had dominate cars and been in their own zip code just to have 2 valve stem issues and late restarts in the spring but if it comes down to late restarts again and Kevin is in the lead I guarantee you there is no chance that he gets passed. I believe that we will win!

Did a little math based on two "conceivable" 10th place finishes.
First, Chicagoland.
There is no doubt in my mind that if Childers and Harvick just go ahead and take their lumps and pit after developing a "severe" left rear tire rub and change all four tire with one of the fastest cars on the track, and with just under half of the race left that they would have finished NO WORSE than tenth.
Possible points scenario after Chicago with a tenth place finish:
2006 pts to start the chase. 33 pts for finishing tenth. 1 pt for leading at least one lap. Total: 2040 pts vs 2008 pts (See where I'm headed?)
Now, New Hampshire.
Initially Childers called for Harvick to stay out during the last caution then thought otherwise, and by then it was too late. Apparently there was some sort of real time video "glitch". Why the initial call was to stay out is beyond me, but even after their bed was made why did Harvick let the 11 then the 20 run him out of fuel. Why didn't Harvick remain conservative and quit worrying about the win. There is no doubt in my mind that Harvick would have finished NO WORSE than tenth if they would have either came in and got fuel or just remained conservative. Example: Biffle finished 4th.
Possible points scenario after New Hampshire with a tenth place finish:
2040 pts coming into the race. 33 pts with a tenth place finish. 2 pts for leading at least one lap and leading the most laps. Total: 2075 points Good for 6th in the chase and an 18 point cushion going to a track that they do real well at.
Harvick stated that he thought that SHR was gonna pound JGR into the ground and that they would "beat themselves". Look who's beating themselves.

Well even with all the fumbles in the first two races the Vegas odds makers have Kevin and JJ tied at 7-2 to win. Have faith.

Funny enough they based the decision not to pit at Chicago based on video and then the video feed was delayed yesterday, although I give them absolutely zero pass for that b/c they could have called him to pit at any point.
That said, maybe they need to start using their eyes and not the monitors.
