It gets even better when you read about how they decided to do this based on IRacing simulations with the NextGen car that hasn't even been on the track yet in race conditions, nor do the teams have any in their possession yet.

Read an article that interviewed Rodney for Atlanta this weekend. He said this weekend will tell it all for the 4 team and let them know how competitive they’ll be beyond this race.

He mentioned how early in the season they went the wrong direction and made cars worse. They lost 70 counts of downforce when most other teams lost like 40. They will only hit the wind tunnel one or two more times and they don’t expect to learn anything because if they do, Nascar makes a change almost weekly and anything gained is lost.

He didn’t sound real confident or optimistic to me about the rest of the season, but I guess we’ve all been watching and see it doesn’t look promising. He said they are hoping for a good weekend here to see where they’re at and how competitive they will be in the future. He goes on to say that they are just hoping to keep up and try to win from strategy or gain spots from the pit crew.

I think the pit crew has been really the only positive this season, and it’s a damn shame it took so long to get a good one. Harvick would easily have 20 more race wins and probably another cup if he had this crew in previous seasons.

Yeah good read Greg, similar to the one I read. Question though, about him mentioning the 70 counts of downforce and how SHR was more behind than others? WHY so much??

I don’t know Justin. I know Childers and Harvick know what their doing but it doesn’t sound like much will change this year…hopefully they figure out the car next season.

One thing that is clear is most of Nascar’s fan base and future now are Hendrick drivers. I think Larson is very talented but for the rest of them it’s obvious how much better that equipment is. I don’t think Harvick hit a wall like some are saying and he is reached the end. I think all the BS changes Nascar has been making will make him throw in the towel though if things aren’t better next year.
