Found this video from a couple years ago... www.nascar.com/en_us/news-media/articles/2013/09/15/nascar-drivers-meeting-restarts-chicagoland.htmlHere's what I gathered from it.... 1.) The leader can restart the race in the restart zone, but the Flagman restarts the race officially. The 2nd place car can pass the leader before the Start/Finish once the green has been displayed since the race has officially been restarted. 2.) The cars must still maintain double file lines until after crossing the Start/Finish Line. So... 1.) Regardless what NASCAR tries to say, they did indeed go through 2 G-W-C finishes 2.) Bayne pulled out of line before crossing the Start/Finish line and shouldn't have been to the right of Kevin at the time of contact... Am I wrong with this assumption? Is my Biasness showing? I don't think so, but what does everyone else think about it??

I always though you could pass to the right, but maybe that's only after you've crossed the s/f line?

You can pass to the right at any time. There was no problem with that.

You can pass to the right at any time. There was no problem with that. I don't believe this is correct. You cannot change lanes until you've passed the S/F line. Now, NASCAR could've changed something and I may have missed it. I just know it's been this way for a few years now. aricpelt, as far as Bayne pulling out of line, NASCAR makes exceptions for those types of situations, as they should. The 6 shouldn't have to stay behind a car that is dreadfully slow. All that is going to do is cause more problems. The 6 was in the right when he went to the outside.
