I usually wouldn't post this, but he was more than a fan. I lost my brother in law, Tom Bakken, about 2 hrs ago. I'm still here at the icu waiting area looking back on his life. The good times and races we've been to together. We'll be leaving shortly. God rest him. And thank you in advance for your thoughts. Quick note, as we are fans, Tom was too. A truck driver. Well you remember the merchandise hauler drivers that we made friends with. We have a good friend George, that used to drive for (Sry I can't remember) and Joe that used to drive for no fear. Well back in 05, a week before the 500, George called Tom, something happened to the Petty hauler driver, and told Tom if he could get down there tomorrow the job is his. So off went my wife and Tom to Daytona, and the rest was history. He drove for them for 1 full year. Hey he got to go to every race that year. Loved and hated it, like we all do about our jobs. Behind the scenes, that's not all fun and games for those that used to drive those haulers every week to every track. Yes he wanted to drive a teams car hauler, but you gotta know the right people as they say. So, here's to Tom, maybe Dale will give him a job, I love ya bro.
