I'd be rooting for Harv anyways but I'll be rooting extra hard this week just to see all the butthurt on social media. I don't know when NASCAR "fans" became such whiny losers but they sure are about Talladega - it was like five weeks ago, get over it already.

While replaying last year's race in my head I thought the 24 had the best car that day. He qualified on the pole, and I believe he led the most laps. If I recall he came in for tires when running 2nd or 3rd during the last caution, which was the caution after Kevin got tires. I could not understand why he did this at the time as it appeared to me he was in pretty good shape for the win. It seemed to me as if he purposely got out of the way of affecting the championship when he came in. Kind of the opposite of what the 2 was trying to do at the time.
I am deeply concerned of the 24 this Sunday, or Monday or whenever they get to run it.

What I hate is everywhere you look these stupid media people are talking about what would be the best story. I don't care about who has the best story. I want to win a championship and have good racing. Nate Ryan and the rest of the bunch is nothing but story hungry for Jeff and Kyle and I think if anyone deserves it would be the 78 for hard times and the little team that could. Bring it home Kevin and let the media guys feel empty handed.

The 24 had a lot more speed going into the race last year - remember he was Ryan Newman ko'ing the 42 from being in the Championship Four. I just haven't seen he has that this year. He wasn't even close to winning a race in the regular season and then needed about five different miracles to win at Martinsville. Now maybe Hendrick is giving him the God car of all God cars and engines, but I'm going to have to see it to believe it. I still fervently think as long as the 4 has a clean race that they are all going to be up against it.

Hendrick had been pretty dismal this second half as well. However, Hendrick is on it now. Mr H will make certain He has a bullet for his last ride.

Gordon has been stronger recently but still finishing in the back half of the top 10 and that won't cut it but we will see what he has this weekend. Truex might be the strongest competition based on how he has ran on 1.5 mile tracks this year but we really won't know until once we get going today but we all know Kevin will be very strong! Can't wait to get started today!

6th on the board in Q trim. However, 2 cars in front of us are in race trim.

That was race trim - ran one lap and brought it back in.

Last year they didn't seem to have the best car here. Tires at the end is what gave them the edge. And without the cautions at the right times he wasn't going to catch the leaders. He drove cautiously all race by staying off the wall. At the end when he was trying to make time, he moved to the wall and I think it surprised them that they weren't really any faster next to it. I hope they get this thing dialed in this practice.

Last year's pole was 180.7 without the spacer. Edwards ran 175. Strange in all them and the 4 at the top with only 3 laps/2 runs so far.
