Since there isn't a legit champion this year, thought I would post this per Rotoworld. Obviously, everyone here knows my feelings about this contrived, ridiculous "playoff" system which lends itself to complete randomness - so, in my book, Kevin is this year's NASCAR champion... Kevin Harvick would have won the 2015 NASCAR Cup and Joey Logano would have finished second under the old format that counted all of the races but that awarded the same number of points per finish as fans currently see. Harvick would have had a fairly comfortable margin of 22 points. Even after missing 11 races, the current champion Kyle Busch would have climbed to 20th in the standings, 454 points behind Harvick. www.rotoworld.com/player/nas/16/kevin-harvickMy thoughts on this whole debacle of a playoff? Let's use straight points to determine the top 4 drivers, and have those 4 run the last race or last 2 races to determine the champion. At least the crowned champion will be well-deserved as they would have had to run well all season. But that will never happen because France, Jr is a complete moron. I am not sure how much I will follow NASCAR going forward - I will watch some races, but this hokey system is such a turn off to the old school, traditional fan, that's it's not really worth spending all the money and energy on.

Kevin did indeed have a great year. I'll remain a fan of nascar in spite of France. I don't watch any pro ball games anymore, their pay got way out of line and I won't support it. I'll stick with nascar and Ultimate fighting.

so he would be a 2x champ under the old system since he would have been champion in 2010 as well

France is why when you read any of my post regarding him, I always refer to him as bf-the wanna be football owner. He has definitely not thought out the process of all the past 10 years changes. Its like every couple of years, "hey, let's try this". Granted sometimes it's needed. Dale and others back then at times have had 100's of points ahead of 2nd and all they had to do was start their car at Atlanta and win the championship. So for the prior 2, 3, and 4 weeks leading up to that, viewership went down because you knew who the champ was going to end up being. Then the first big change in points came along and (I think) a couple years went by and Kenseth won with no wins that year. And that left a bad taste with everyone too. So on and so on. And now the champion basically comes down to any given Sunday. M.O.O. point them through the season until 10 to go. The top 10 move on. Reset their points, race to the end. But the problem with that is, someone else (about a million someones) have their own (what they believe) is a better format. So the old saying goes, you can't please everyone. Back to the top, yeah bf sucks.

Like a lot of NASCAR fans, I don't watch much of any other sport. College, zero, pro basketball, zero. I'm 52 and don't ever mind saying, I have never watch more than about 15 or 20 minutes of any college or basketball game in my life. I'd watch 2 hrs of golf before them. Baseball playoffs only when the Mets are in it. Football, maybe a last quarter during the year if the Raiders have a chance, and playoffs depending on who's playing. I support NASCAR because it's something my wife and I enjoy together. Like a lot of you, we have our NASCAR friends that we only see at the races. Its 4, 5 or 6 looonnngg weekends a year. 2016 is already lined up for us. 10 days and 6 friends camping outside turn 1 in Daytona. And hopefully another M&G with Kevin. A 1 night trip with hotel and 2 friends for Bristol. 5 days and about 11 friends in west park B at Dega. 4 days and 5 friends at Eldora. We usually do about 5 days for the fall bristol, but this year its, 4 days and 6 friends back to Darlington. And finishing back at Dega with 9 friends in the infield. Sorry, but who can resist a year of that!!
