Last night at work we were watching the race---figuring out the best strategy---
I figured we we were dumb, cuz we got all missed up with the Kenseth incident...
Then the commentators couldnt figure it out---then Tony flipped his wig.. so I knew we werent alone
I really didnt mind the format--just feel due to a lack of understanding, many cars didnt capitalize on their situation
i think it would have been a better race if the rules were more clearly defined...incidents anticipated etc...rules gone over-digested more

What a crazy night. I really thought the format might have been fun to watch especially that last segment but had that first caution when Kenseth never pitted and then caught like 6 cars a lap down and that's when it went down hill. On the bright side we were bad fast and that was a brand new car that was seeing its first action on the track yesterday!

too complicated and manipulatable they should make it 2,50 lap segments. at the end of first segment and mandatory pit stops they could flip a coin,if its heads, line up the same after the mandatory pit stops or tails, reverse the line up after pit stops.. but don't do the coin flip until after pit stops so no one can know if the order will be reversed or not.

The racing last night was terrible! The showdown produced some good racing...It was nice to see they had a new car that was bad fast, unfortunately couldn't do anything with it. Its rarely that they're slow, but its a chronic problem having a fast car and not finishing where you should, its painful to watch every week. Im really not sure how "they" deal with it so well? Its more than a unlucky break, circumstances, at some point you have to create your own circumstance.
Tombo has a good point, if your going to flip the field do it somehow the drivers cant manipulate it!
Make it 3 - 30 lap segments with 5 cars eliminated after each of the first 2 segments, after lap 15 have a competition caution with the option to pit or not, caution laps dont count. 10 car shootout at the end with a fan vote to flip the field or not.

get rid of the fan vote. 60 laps, cautions don't count, no mandatory pit, with 60 laps they'll have to put around 50-55 anyway. Lap 60, all remaining number of cars left by envelope drew the number to be flipped.

The format had potential, but it turned into an absolute Joke...
I agree with AnotherHarvickFan... Eliminate the Fan Vote... Or reduce the amount of Shootout winners. They keep expanding the field/requirements to get in every year, pretty soon it's going to be like the "Must run all 36 races to be eligible for the Championship" rule. Useless!

Ok here goes my 2 cents worth again... I agree with some of the others get rid of the fan vote, racing in the all star race should be earned not given to whom ever gets the most votes for ever how many they decide they want in the race. Next... Nascar get your shit together you made a mockery of the all star race on tv and looked about as stupid as they come. The announcers did not have a clue what was going on, the Crew chiefs did not have a clue what was going on and neither did the drivers.. It looked like a bad Joke to me.. and they wonder why they call Nascar a red neck sport
