I'm not a big fan of the NBCSN broadcast and their high ratio of commercials to content, but I thought it was great that they sought out and interviewed every single driver that was entered into the race for on air screen time. That's something a lot of the small budget teams never have the opportunity to do and I think it had to make their sponsors happy to be visible in that capacity.
I honestly don't see Fox Sports going out of their way to do that. They would've just replayed an old Daytona 500 and gone off screen for a cappuccino or whatever it is they drink....

The amount of commercials suck, but their overall presentation is so much better than Fox. NBC doesn't rely in gimmicks. Their broadcasts tend to focus on a lot of the more interesting stuff in the sport. The technical side so-to-speak. But, most importantly they provide it at a level that even casual fans can understand. When I think back to when I first started watching the sport in 1999, I remember a lot more coverage like NBC does, not the crap Fox does now. Fox used to be pretty good. They had a good mix of gimmicks and technicality. Now it is all gimmicks and the Waltrips yelling constantly. DW is so terrible I actually turned off a few races earlier this year because I couldn't bear to listen to him anymore.

Commercials are ridiculous! It seems like they have more & more every season. Since I have sprint cell service, I get the nascar app free and find myself muting the broadcast and listening to Harvicks scanner while reading shoutbox. As far as commentators go, Larry Mac is probably at the top of my list, there is probably only one that drives me absolutely nuts and thats Michael Waltrip!

NBC used to stand for:
Nothing But Commercials
We'll have to come up with something for the "SN".
