Car is stout.
Evidently they did not start on stickers. Rodney tweeted he was disapointed he did not get a chance at a sticker run before the rain. I believe that was Rodney's way of bragging on his car a bit based on the mornings practice times.

That rule change has put the Toyota's at an advantage. The 48 looked to be the best car there, but we don't have that kind of speed. If we can clean up our mistakes and our luck will change we should make the final 4, but we need to find something for a chance at the championship. Even without the part break today we had no chance at the win.

I think we would have won today without the parts failure.
Good it happens when the race is meaningless today. I would have loved to see the 4 and the 48 battle up front. The 4 has owned the 48 for months.

Supposedly all Chasers passed.
The officials were hovering around the 78's rear window. Obviously something flagrant there but we will never know about it.

We were lapped twice by the leaders after we went back out on the track. We had good speed at the start of a run, but nowhere near what the 48 and 78 had. The 4 car times fell off after 15 or so laps.I never said anything about a slow car ending our day. I said we need more speed to beat the 78 heads up. If homestead was next week we would not win in my opinion. Last week they had us covered even though we won. I said it last year even though last year we showed more speed than most going into homestead. The 18 and 78 are the cars to beat going forward. I think we have the rest of the field covered. The 78 car is doing something giving them an advantage. They are not worried at all at least not what I can tell. They know based on speed they are where they need to be.

I got a kick out of reading NASCAR took the 4 car to R&D. Probably the first time the 37th place car has ever been the random.

That was my initial thought when I saw they took the 4 back to the R&D center. I'm sure they want to see why the track bar mount broke and if there was anything they could learn from it.
