Based on what I have seen between Harv an Joey this year (and yesterday) I would be very surprised if we're not somewhat alligned with Penske next year.

When he caught the 22 at the end of the race it seemed to me like he wasn't trying to pass him. He made it look like he was trying but I just didn't buy it. Just rode around behind him. Otherwise I don't think Rodney had any other reason to tell Kevin about the 22's chase scenario.

It appeared to me that he was running the 22 down and could've passed him but didn't. |

And in the end screwed himself b/c if all the subsequent events happen, Kevin Harvick wins the race leading two laps and is in the final four Sunday.

I think this Ford move it the big reason Kevin is not in the final 4... If Kevin would have had the same motor that the HMS guys had, then we'd be in the show. It kind of makes me wonder if SHR took it last shipment of motors from HMR prior to the chase. Four cars all running good at a track, point to a improvement in the car or motor. It not like Kasey flip a switch and started running top 5. HMS has something and they didn't share with SHR.
As for the alliance... I thought it was with Roush.

Basically all the Fords are allied together b/c they all get engines from the same place.

I suspect SHR will have a similar alliance with Penske. And it was not in this year's script for the 4 to make it to Homestead. The script calls for another 7 time champion. And dare I say it, I hope Joey didn't get the Memo. Go Ford!? |

I know its over and done with but im still very disapointed to see the HMS alliance come to an end! Trying to stay optimistic about the future, just worried about the ford camp learning curve and the length of Harvick's career! Time will tell soon enough... |
