Huge fan of this. It makes the regular season worth a lot more now than the previous system. If anything, Kevin should really benefit from this as long as he's as consistent as he's been the past few years. Really excited to see how this all plays well, gonna be fun!

I really hope this works out. I do like the sport. However... I don't see it in the near future. I will take a lot of this year off and see how it goes. I usually do 4-6 race s a year. Last year we did 8. This year we have 1 planned and don't see adding much more. Every other year, for the past 15 years nascrap keeps changing things in hopes to bring back more fans. And I keep saying, one of these times they're going to push me away. Hello, those changes haven't been working long term. A change, and new fans for a year, but losing old fans, lower ratings and attendance. So, more changes, and repeat again and again. They pulled my (almost) last straw. We'll see. Good luck and life to you all.

Nascar has gone the way of ALL professional sports. MONEY has ruined it. I stopped watching most pro sports several years ago because of over paid athletes and owners that just want to drain every penny out of fans. Welcome to that elete group Nascar. They all should be ashamed of themselves and JR needs to chill out after telling the fans to chill out. Who does he thinks pays his salary?

I just gave up my Jets season tickets after 30 years....(they play like they dont care)
I hope this works... atleast the local track is still exciting...like watching Ryan Preece in his modified
Wait and see...
Maybe ticket prices will go down.....

Yup. Myrtle Beach speedway is 10 miles from me and I'm embarrassed to say I have never been to a race there. That will change this year.

Some of you guys that are complaining about the cost of going to races - again like I've said many times before, compared to other sports, going to NASCAR races is fairly cheap. I went to Bristol for less than $100 last year. That's ticket, gas, and food.
On the flip side, I paid nearly $800 (tickets, gas, food) to go watch Alabama-Washington in the Chick-Fil-A Peach Bowl this year, and there wasn't any empty seat in that place.
Let's be real here, guys. Cost isn't the issue here. If you take a little time to plan and research your trip to a race, you can do it fairly cheap. Hell, you can bring your own food and drink into the track. I can't think of anywhere else in sports that you can do that?!

my Loudon tix are 100 bucks each--- Im in turn 1 up high-- they have doubled since Bruton bought the track-- so I whine a bit
i just bought top row at dover on the finish line for 75 bucks---very reasonable
bristol up high on front stretch--57 bucks (night race)
so it depends....
also
local track---15 bucks, reserved seat, (real seat not bench) and all the action you can handle, pit seating w/ pit access 35 bucks

My Talladega tickets are $75/piece, and have been for 10 years at least. I think these are the best seats in the house, not bad for $75 You can pretty much go to any racetrack now, walk up to a scalper and tell him to sell you the cheapest thing he has, and you can pretty much go sit anywhere you want to. The ticket I bought at Bristol was a $120 face value ticket in the Kulwicki Terrace - I paid the guy $40. The difference in going to your local track, is that you're going to watch a professional series versus a local series, it's not really a good comparison. Just my opinion.

I agree---sorry wasnt comparing talent---that was just some info on what the local track charges. That view looks nice!

You can sit too high and really lose the feel of the experience, if I wanted a great view I'd just stay at home and watch it on TV. We've had these seats for a few years now. They're on the top row of OV Hill South Section A, on the aisle. You can pretty much see everything but the back stretch, but the huge Sprint (Monster) Vision screens take care of that aspect. I've sat everywhere that you can sit at Talladega, and I won't sit anywhere else.

I live about 20 minutes from Ridge Top in Tennessee and about an hour from Nashville fair grounds speedway, only been to each track once, that will change this year.

Nothing on price hear, you're right, compared to other sports, it's fairly cheap to do a whole race weekend. But if it's heat races, I'll stick with the all-star race. I go to races to see a whole race and don't care who's leading at 1/3 or 1/2 way thru. Its a little politically correct too. Let's give credit to someone leading at 1/2 way. BS, it's like your youth sports today giving trophies to second place.

Have they not for the majority of NASCAR's existence given something to the driver leading at halfway? Wasn't there a pretty significant amount of money given out? Like $50,000 or something?
