The best plate race was at Talladega in 2010 with 29 different leaders and 88 lead changes and Harvick also won that one. That set a all new record.

The 2011 race where eight cars finished within a car length of each other was better than the 2010 race, but the yokels didn't like the tandems because Joooooonyer didn't win and there wasn't enough cars getting wrecked and in the air, so that had to go away.

I liked it for a few races, but the novelty kind of wore off on me. I didn't like having to solely depend on someone else for the ENTIRE race. I like the drivers having the ability to some-what make moves on their own.

I say "dump 'em" Since when is blocking ... racing?? If it's anything goes for a win .. like blocking ... then ANYTHING goes! Can't have it just one way.

No where near the best race. No one could pass nothing but a road block. At least in 2010 like I said 88 lead changes with 29 different leaders. Does it get much better than that. Like tandem racing or not. There was a lot of passing going on and strategy which creates excitement.

2011 had 88 lead changes and 26 leaders, plus a ridiculously close finish.

Seemed to me a lot easier to go to the front and lead and there was consistent passing through the whole field for the entire race. The pack racing is good at times, but you always seem to get stuck in the middle and cannot move up. Not to mention the big 1 can happen a lot quicker with 3 wide racing and that is still exciting but I prefer the tandem racing.

2011 was a tandem race - it was the 29/33, 5/24, 48/88 and 99/16 at the end

Yeah your right, I was thinking about the race where they were 3 wide 8 deep and no one could go anywhere. Not sure what year that was though.
