Chassis Information - Chassis No. 4-842: Kevin Harvick will pilot the No. 4 Jimmy John’s Ford Fusion built on Chassis No. 4-842 in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series race Sunday at Martinsville (Va.) Speedway. Built in 2014, Chassis No. 4-842 made its debut in March 2014 at Phoenix International Raceway, where it started 13th and led 224 laps en route to the win. In its second appearance, Harvick won the pole with a speed of 194.252 mph, led 119 laps and finished second at Kansas Speedway in Kansas City. It won the pole with a speed of 204.557 mph at Michigan International Speedway in its third appearance of the year, led 63 laps and scored a runner-up finish. It scored its third runner-up finish of the 2014 campaign in August at Michigan, when Harvick started sixth and led 42 laps. Harvick won the pole at Kansas in October 2014 with a speed of 197.621 mph, led 61 laps and finished 12th. Since 2014, Chassis No. 4-842 has only served as a backup. It was listed as the backup 12 times in 2015 and seven times in 2016. The last time Chassis No. 4-842 saw race action was at Indianapolis in July 2016, when Harvick started seventh and finished sixth.
Going deep in the well for this race with a chassis from 2014. It has a won at Phoenix so its got that going for it. Harvick said they were trying to go in a different direction at Martinsville since it's been they've struggled there.

Rodney said he hopes Kevin is slow off the truck this week. Every time they come here he is fast in the race until the end when it gets too tight. The setup they brought is supposed to be good at the end kind of like he had when he won here before. Don't know if it going to work but Rodney gave the thumbs up.

Not sure but Rodney likes to use the old ones because they can weigh lighter than the new ones they build. Based on what Rodney has said about the car in the past being fast in practice doesn't mean anything. Now a different tire this time may change things but I am hoping for a good car at the end not at the start. The race he won here in the past I quit watching until someone called me and told me look who is winning. I hate this race just maybe our luck will change this week.

The race he won here in 2011 was a bit of an aberration. His car was decent, but not great, until he got a little damage that gave him an advantage - I can't remember if it was fender or body, but it was some minimal damage that really helped his car stick and turn the last 100 laps. So, while he drove his arse off and certainly deserved the win, I wouldn't say the car AS INTENDED was a great car - it was a solid car that became great when aided by some fortuitous damage.

I hope Tony doesn't crawl up in the pit box. Dont need added pressure on the crew. The team will do fine today!

Kevin's Chevy wasn't exactly knocking them dead last October. It's easily their worst track.

It's looking to be a Penske vs Gibbs deal today - and I'll root for anyone over the 18, even Logano or Kez.
