Chassis Information - Chassis No. 4-814: Kevin Harvick will pilot the No. 4 Jimmy John’s Ford Fusion built on Chassis No. 4-814 in the GEICO 500 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series race Sunday at Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway. Built in 2014, Chassis No. 814 finished fifth in the 2014 Clash and served as the backup for both races at Talladega in 2014. Chassis No. 814 finished second in the 2015 Daytona 500 at Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway and fifth in the 2015 CanAm Duel at Daytona. Its most recent start came in May 2015 at Talladega, where Harvick started 24th, led one lap and finished eighth. It served as a backup chassis for the July race at Daytona and the October race at Talladega in 2016, but never saw race action.

It's pretty sweet to get to watch him win in person!

The Daytona car wasn't destroyed was it? Seems weird they aren't bringing that car when it was probably the fastest SHR car he's had at a restrictor plate track.

So do we just have no new cars? What was the point of announcing so early last year if they weren't even going to bother building new chassis?

So do we just have no new cars? What was the point of announcing so early last year if they weren't even going to bother building new chassis? I think they've only run two new cars this year, Daytona and maybe Texas? I know there's a weight advantage to running the older chassis, but I'd think there's an engineering advantage to running a new car.

I didn't hit the board during Dega weekend as I was there. Kevin's hit didn't look that bad, at least cosmetically, but I guess it through the toe or more out. So without Kevin, I thought Ricky winning was pretty good, he was mixing it up front most of the day and even drove back up front from the back. His past years hasn't shown much, but take away his 2 (caught up in wrecks) races and he's got decent finishes this year. Good for anyone to get their first win behind them....

Someone commented (I'd give them credit if I could remembered) the racing is better this year. IMO you still have to throw out Daytona and Dega. But it was a good race, Kevin was near the front all the time, so it'd have made a shot at the win. But Ricky was also up there all day and came back through the field once, so he was deserving of the win. He didn't win on fuel milage or a no tire type pit stop.

Stage racing works at some tracks...not as well at others. At the Dega and Daytona... yeah I think it helps the race, makes the racing for a lap or 2 notch up a bit. If the racing is tight it helps. When the cars get spread out, the Stage racing is nothing more that a forced caution. As for the racing... Anytime Kevin is wrecked out or lower that 15th: The race was horrible worst ever! 10-15: It was ok...usually Rodneys fault! 5-10: Good race...Could have done better! 2-4: Was a great race...I'll take it! 1st place: Totally Awesome...Best race ever or until his next win! LOL!
