Amazing what’s happened when Kevin joined Stewart Haas.
A tweet I saw from yesterday:
With his laps led today, Kevin Harvick passes Bill Elliott to move into 16th all time in career laps led with 11,413.
With RCR: 4,426 laps led in 466 starts. With SHR: 7,060 laps led in 147 starts. #NASCAR

RCR held him back for years. I used to argue with people when he’d dominate a Busch race and beat guys and then get smoked by those same clowns Sunday. I’m so glad he made the switch and is having the success he’s having with SHR.

I half way agree. I don't think it was all rcr holding him back as much as it was that's all rcr had to give him. Most teams and organizations get stuck in the mindset when they're good not to mess with anything. With rcr, they were good, only good, not since the mid nineties have they been close to a championship caliber organization. All you heard about when things were bad for a couple of years running, Richard would go on a hunting trip, come back and swap crews around. And the alliance they had with Earnhardt engines back then all went to crap in 2 years to.
