Guys, been following this sport for the better part of 40 years. I hate seeing what it is becoming. With the rule changes next year, and this fiasco I will watch occasionally watch. Just because it is hard to break a forty year Weekend tradition.
I accept the rules were broken, it this crap has to be found pre-race. It was said earlier that his Cherry picking cars for inspection has to stop.
I will watch next week, just to see how we do. After that my weekends will not revolve around racing. I am sure I will check in from time to time. Always said Inwould make it til Kevin retires, guess not.
I am one of the frustrated fans.

I am one of the frustrated fans. yep,this too was the last straw.the only way I watch homestead is isf the best car over the whole year, #4, is in the final 4.next year not looking to make any plans to watch any races..i actually am thinking about selling my massive nascar collection before the value in it falls out too.. |

Anyone really believe that if the 18 had won AND failed post race at Texas they would have levied this fine against him?

If what Scott Miller said is accurate and that the spoiler was made by SHR instead of the company that distributes and makes them for the entire series, then yes no matter who it was they would have been disciplined harshly.
How they thought they were going to get away with that is beyond me.

I heard it was the correct spoiler supplied by nascar but that the holes to mount it were a little off. Also a nascar official noticed it at the track.
I'm on the side that they race what they bring to the track. F all these rules to even the teams out.

I'm so tired of hearing Chocolate Myers yelling that Harvick is a cheater. He just won't stop. Won't be long before I stop listening to nascar sirius radio. What the hell has happened to normal intelligent people?

You might have that collection of yours longer than you think. 15 yrs ago I'd be all over asking you for prices ect. What used to be 30-40 of us (that I used to hang and go to 6-8 races a year with) and everyone buying cars, shirts, hats, tid bits and more cars, is now 10 of us (at a good race if we're lucky) at 2-4 races a year bearly spending 50 bucks. My friend has a 1/8 (I only have the 1/24) Dale crash car. I can remember that scale car priced over $500.00 back around 2000. It now collects dust, pushed back on a bottom shelf. I'm with you all.. THIS SPORT sorry WAY OF LIFE, JUST ISN'T WHAT IT USED TO BE... |

Yeah I bet chocolate doesn't mention when he was part of rcr (everyone is part of the team, whether you had something to do with the cheating or not) when they plugged Harvick's fuel line at Indy I believe, to make it look like the car was full of fuel. Ala, it wasn't... |

Kicking the dead horse... but here is my thought...
Kevin was nailed in the R&D tear down and lost 40pts... ok BUT so was the 12 and the 20 (20pts). Doesn't it seem to reason that if one car is doing it on a team, then all of the cars are doing it. I can just see it now... Receiving at SHR calling Rodney ... "Hey ... Amazon just delivered your "GOLF CLUBS"! (wink-wink) ... Rodney to Tony... "Hey hope you don't mind me spending 20k on my "GOLF CLUBS"... Point is if it was a "new part" then everyone at shr knew about it. OK they got busted. But what about the 12 and the 20? Both are team cars! 20 comes from the same camp as the 18/78 and the 12 comes from the same camp as the 22. IF YOUR WORRIED ABOUT ALL OF THE COMPETITORS IN THE CHAMPIONSHIP HUNT, THEN TEST/TEAR DOWN ALL OF THEM REGARDLESS OF FINISH. whos to say that the 18 and the 78 didn't have illegal parts too... just because they didn't win doesn't rule them out... it puts all of the teams in a damned if they do damned if they don't situation. Kinda explains why both the 18 and the 78 started running like crap... they didn't want to have their cars checked too.
