Was watching some replays of JJ vs KB... not so sure JJ was completely at fault... KB made a slight move down also. But ultimately this is a product of this type of racing. Watching these young guys, like Chase, do a side draft is like a controlled PIT maneuver that cops use. Chase would turn sharp right like he's trying to spin the guy and right about the time you think he made contact, he'd pull away just as abrupt. I assume this dumps a ton of air onto the car he's side drafting and minimizes the chance that the other guy can side draft back. Problem with this is when you go for it the other guy can move down or he's/you are toast. I just think this is a HIGH risk maneuver. Like wall riding. Its not IF you're going to wreck someone, its WHEN you're going to wreck someone. Kyle Larson/Kevin Harvick at auto club last year... Kevin went for a side draft and Larson moved down. I think JJ is trying to up his game and he's just no good at that overly aggressive side draft method... fact is... JJ's never been really good at plate racing unless he has a car that is untouchable.
That all being said... This is what we are in for for the rest of the season. A bunch of side draft wrecks. And here is why I think so... If you remember with this rule package, one of the features is extra opening in the front that dump are into the wheel well and ultimately out the side of the car. I think that air is going to cause a cushion of air that will require a highly aggressive side draft maneuver to be effective. And again it wont be IF... it will be WHEN.

Xfinity race was so boring. Nascar really has shot themselves in both feet.

Somethings gotta be different, I don't put that all on the drivers wanting to run single file, I don't think they were thinking (last year if someone pulls out and I go with them, we're going to the front, this year we're going to the back) so they don't pull out. Same thing in the duels, boring boring boring, except to watch Hamlin to out make 2 cars and then get shuffled back all night. And what happened to Bowyer's spotter, or was it Bowyer himself not blocking on the last lap. I was there, so I didn't watch any replays, but hey...... KEVIN WON HIS DUEL, nice job 4 Team.. |

Literally, there was nothing different than last year. Chase came on the radio during the Xfinity race today and asked his crew if anything changed from last year, they said no, same as last year. He didn't understand what was making everyone run at the top. |

If I'm not mistaken, I believe trucks have less horse power, plus Their rear spoiler looks the same. But their race was definitely worth watching. They got a few 5-6 trucks running up front in single file a few times, but 3/4 of the field most of the time were 2 and 3 wide. That was an enjoyable race to watch.

Too bad that race ended the way it did. Incredible race until 25 to go, then everyone goes nuts as usual.
