Here's some new news (oh wait, we're talking about nascar) 11 days must have passed since their last change.
Just read changes for the super speedways. Removing the restrictor plate and installing the tapered reducer. Reducing HP to 550 (I think tapered reducer is a fancy new term for 'restrictor plate') which we knew was happening anyway. AND raising the rear end of the car up 1" by installing a 1" track bar mount. AND raising the rear spoiler from 8 to 9 inches. Regardless how low the teams adjust that bar, the top of the rear spoiler is still 2 inches higher off the ground.
Hey here's an idea, put the wicker strip back across the front of the roof and we can have another zero pass race like the one Dale Jarrett won 20 plus years ago.

This was announced well before the season started, minus the additional once inch to the spoiler. The wickerbill package produced some of the best superspeedway races of all time? You must be thinking about the 1st 3 races of the year 2000 where the wickerbill was not used.

I'm glad opinions are just that, opinions. I remember the wicker strips produced races where hardly any passes were made. Me, I liked the tandem racing, 88 lead changes at Dega. I've sat at 95-100 races, and easily 10 years of that was both Daytona's and Dega's, make that 40 restrictor plate races. And those 4 or 5 tandem races were the most times we along with the other 80 plus thousand fans stood for 3 plus hours. We looked forward to cautions to sit down and rest from yelling...

I loves the tandems. The main problem was that Jr wasn’t good at them

There were 5 races with the wicker bill package: 2000 Fall Talladega - 21 different leaders, 49 lead changes (quite possibly one of the best races in NASCAR history) 2001 Daytona 500 - 14 different leaders, 49 lead changes (still to this day one of the best Daytona 500s in history) 2001 Talladega Spring - 25 different leaders, 37 lead changes (caution free, with 30 cars still in a big wad coming to the line, and a last lap pass for the win) 2001 Pepsi 400 - This was was the anomaly, Jr has that stupid fast car and led most of the race 2001 Talladega Fall - 12 different leaders, 32 lead changes (not as great as the spring race, but the last 10-20 laps were some of the most amazing of all time) I'm sorry man - just struggling to see how the wicker bill package hardly produced any passing. You have to be thinking about the first 3 plate races of 2000.

Maybe we're talking about 2 different things, I see old pics (because I can't see my 24 scale cars that are boxed up) of the wicker bill, showing the blade that ran down the side of the rear window, I'm talking about the strip that ran across the top front of the roof. Was that strip part of the same package?

Was that strip part of the same package? Yes, that package has the strip than ran across the front of the roof, along with the lip on the rear spoiler as well. The cup series ran that package from the fall Talladega race in 2000 - Fall Talladega 2001.
