I don't see him apologizing for anything like the mopes on social media want him to.
I think he was a. right about Dale Jr. and the damage having a perennial loser as the face of the sport did and b. Harv did what he had to do at Talladega in 2015, and that's on NASCAR for having this points system in the first place and allowing the system to "manipulated."
And the Talladega thing is only a controversy b/c Dale Jr. got a bad restart and wasn't ahead of the 22. If he'd won that race, nobody would care.

So this came out today (Dale Jr. was sick when originally scheduled). They did bury the hatchet about his comments in 2017 re Dale Jr. and his popularity while not driving well hurting the sport, but he made sure to point out that Dale Jr./JR Motorsports/Hendrick lit a fire under him by taking Ernie Cope and "his" Xfinity team away from him in '15 or '16 and Dale Jr's comments about drivers salaries needing to come down while he was negotiating his contract.
It also sounds very much like he's done after 2023 and he admitted originally he was retiring after this season. He also said the new car drives like absolute crap in traffic (way too tight) and that it's slooooow.
