Or not. He just came out on a fresh set of tires. He did all his work on old tires it sounds like

24 is super fast in this session
Let me add I'm not a huge fan of this low line the 4 is running. It seems like the speed is up top here.

Somebody needs to ask Rodney on Twitter how the 4 stacked up to the 24 on the last run. His thoughts I want to know!!

Also at some point it's going to pour so we'll be dealing with a green racetrack most likely.

I'm pretty sure the 24 ran his fastest laps at the beginning of the practice when he had stickers on and the track was the fastest. It's hard to tell how everybody's car is with all these different tire strategies going on and even Jeff burton was acting like Kevin's was still the best car or right there at it but I'm sure Rodney and the other crew chiefs know exactly where they stand

They struggled a bit on the long run here last year but it does look better this year for sure

I'm not sure what to make of the car this weekend. I read what Rodney says but it's odd seeing him that far down on the charts. I get the scuff tire deal, but still... I do know I'll be there to watch it in person! Hoping Kevin and the team and all of us get to celebrate another championship tomorrow...or Monday, either way!

I remember them doing the same thing last year at the Atlanta race cause I was there and was wondering why they were so far down the carts in happy hour until I heard Rodney say why and then we seen what happened in the race. Last year they was not very confident in the car at all at homestead. Sounds much better this year! We will be good!
