i just heard hms is wanting to satellite a drivers contract to another team to open a car for another driver. has anyone heard this too today?? |

maybe be it has something to do with it. I would hope it's to get Harvick in that 5 car. And for the people that think the 5 car sucks. Remember how the 39 car ran before it became the 4 car.

One could only hope Hendrick could work something out to keep Harvick in hms equipment! I feel Harvick is the best driver racing that hms stuff, the only person he loses to is chad knaus! Hopefully he can take Rodney to setup the car, Then Rodney just needs to do whatever Chad does on pit road! Leave the pit crew at Stewart/Hass, cant count on them!
But we know he'll still be with stewart next year, building stewarts team at his sacrifice of whats left of his career. Look guys, i dont want to sound negative, its been a great ride with hms stuff!! I strongly believe if you struggle every week on pit road, really since hes been with the 4 team its been a struggle on pit road and cant resolve it, how are you going to build a new team without a couple year learning curve. I hope im wrong, maybe they will copy what gibbs does with finding good talent, that team is great at finding and training pit crews.
I just hate to see Harvick with bad circumstances all the time, he should have so many more wins, championships then he has!! If he would have fell into the 48 car in 02, he'd have 100 wins, 8 championships. Or if RCR could have paired him up with great equipment and a great crew chief like Richard kept promising. Unfortunately when he does get to the hall of fame, who has the record for 2nd place finishes?

just remember.......I have been saying ALL YEAR that if SHR goes to Ford, that Kevin will not stay with the team. I don't care what Kevin says, what SHR says, or what anybody says - I just have this feeling that he will bail this team that has regressed each year and is moving to a manufacturer that is clearly behind Toyota and Chevy. I've also said that HMS makes the most sense to me because: 1 - they are the premier Chevy team and 2 - Kasey Kahne has been a disappointment and they would love to upgrade over him with Kevin.

They want Romain Grosjean from HaasF1 to drive in either one or both road course races this year but can't field an additional car for him from SHR. Nothing to do with Kevin. |

Everybody thinks that Tony Stewart is his best friend. They are good friends for sure. They have a lot in common yes. My guess is Josh is probably his best friend since they spend so much time together. Even if Kevin ends up staying with SHR I bet we will hear at some point how he could've stayed with Chevy. I'm not going to pretend that I know what's going on. But I do hope he goes the Hendrick Also Kevin has a museums worth of Chevy cars and old race cars. All with a bowtie on them. I just don't see how Chevy could let him get away. |

Some years ago, there was speculation that one of his rides (can't remember if it was a KHI ride or what) was not going to be a Chevy and he staunchly denied that saying he wouldn't drive for anything but Chevy. Now, that was a while ago and things can certainly change; but, I don't think it will - especially with Ford being a bottom-rung manufacturer at this point lagging behind both Toyota and Chevy. And, yes Smoke and he are close friends. But Smoke is also hanging it up at the end of the year, so I don't think that friendship will hold the power over him that it might have 2 or 3 years ago. If Kevin has the chance to go to the top Chevy organization vs a declining new Ford organization, I would be surprised if he didn't pick the former. |
