Watching race hub yesterday, they were talking about the aero package and how if the Racing gets crazy exciting, NASCAR will implement this rule package immediately to all 1.5 mike tracks. I don’t understand why NASCAR thinks running wide open on a 1.5 Mile track will create good racing. 2014 was the best racing. No restrictions on the engines. The faster the cars go the more they have to slow down in the corner. That in my mind makes for good racing as proven that year. Who ever is the leader off pit road will win the race. I don’t think we will see a lead change on the racetrack.

I've heard the same story at every track. Whomever is out front in clean air can't be passed yet in every race the leader gets passed. I'm looking forward to another great racing weekend.

Harvick should have won 3 all star races in a row a couple of years ago, but came out 2nd off pit road and never could pass the leader even with a car that’s 2 tenths faster. If you go way back in time to win Kevin won his last truck race at Atlanta, he never lifted the entire run and Kyle Busch was running 2nd. He fussed about not being able to pass Kevin because they were running wide open. Wide open Racing for the lead will suck. Just common sense.

Looks like a big chance of rain for today and tomorrow. I hope they get qualifying in today, very Entertaining to watch. I guess Kyle Busch will be on the pole if so.

When the cars are running 30 MPH slower than normal, aero isn't as much of a factor. I expect to see everyone bunched up and a lot of passing.

I will be shocked if there is passing from the top 5 cars. If the truck races were cup base teams and cup based drivers, the racing would be terrible. The only reason the trucks races are usually good is because they start having to lift off the throttle with a lot of drag. If you are wide open the Racing will suck. NASCAR needs to quit trying to gimmick the races for entertainment. I don’t need entertainment, this is the reason why I have a favorite driver to root for. The beat teams work to hard to be beat by gimmicks.

I don't remember a lot about the Xfinity race at Indy... I do seem to remember that some drivers were complaining about the lack of ability to side draft and I think it was because more air being dumped on the side of the cars and kinda created a cushion... could be wrong... but I seem to remember something to that effect.
I would agree... When applying rules from Xfinity/Trucks up to the Cup level, the racing usually suffers. Drivers and teams are too good and usually engineer it out... Didn't take long for Harvick to figure out tandem drafting! Yeehaw!

Continuing to take HP away from the Cup cars is just an exercise in stupidity. If I want to watch Xfinity, I'll watch that.
Honestly it feels like NASCAR is the only sport that continually tries to gimmick its way to parity rather than just accept some teams are going to be great, some good and some horrible. Want to be better? Work on your shit like SHR did when Toyota set the standard and eclipse it.

Yep 18 second stop and were only 1 second back. 18 seconds is atrocious. And Hamlin slid through his pit and their crew was still 1.5 sec better!
