Just had my first experience with the new tents... I will never.... NEVER... Step foot inside one of those ridiculous things again!!!
I'm almost inclined to become a Logano or Keselwoski fan since they still had haulers trackside!
Remember the thief that got caught in the middle of the night because he was wearing those light up shoes when he ran?? Well, those tents are even Dumber!!

Yep! Spent A LOT of money in there yesterday - then my gets assaulted like she's shop-lifting as she was leaving to get my kid a fan scan while I was at the counter - forever....then the chick couldn't even get the shit rung up. Meanwhile we're at the independents today and they run like 3 tents at once with no problem. Done! I'll buy on-line or at the independents next time. Fans need to not support this and do so the independents, IMO.

What didn't you like about them? Each driver was sectioned off in about the space of a 12x12 Self Storage building. If you're in the back looking at something, you can literally get trapped in there forever due to overcrowding... Plus it was HOT at the track and even hotter in those confined spaces (and we got there before the large crowds began to congregate inside there). If you want to look at "Clearance" merchandise, you'll have to sort between every single driver while dealing with even greater overcrowding in that section... The employees are just local kids they've hired temporarily to work the weekend and none of them know what they are doing... Just a miserable experience overall! |

My brother went and he said it was a nightmare. My feeling on this is, if it's not broke don't fix it..
So I guess I need to purchase my Kevin Harvick Shirt on line before I get to the track for Dega..

We didn't like it at Richmond. The trailers were much better...spaced out, didn't have to get searched when you left. The tents seemed like they had less stuff too. You can't look at anything without someone running over you. At least with the trailers you could step back and observe

Ok so at Loudon I sought out the giant tent of doom selling official souveniers..
First--It was a bit crowded- I did go at the busiest time on purpose.
Nobody really around to help you--however you could put your hands on everything.
Just didnt seem like that had everything the trailer did..I could be wrong.
The checkout area had tons of folks to check you out--it was busy but the lined moved at a good pace--surprisingly
Keselowski's trailer was there..(she's a fan)one of the few, talked to them a bit, they are all all losing their jobs at seasons end ...very depressing. They said they could apply for a job under the big tent, but nobody will just because....
There is something missing without the trailer experience...at Loudon you had to have a ticket to get to the trailers...now of course the tent is outside the fence so you dont---guess they figure they sell more.
Progress I guess??

It sucked. In the spring at Dega too. Yeah getting searched was not my idea. My wife didn't even buy anything, and with our race day Radio bag and beverage bag, that didn't go over well at all. The people working the tent (when you could find one) didn't know squat about the products either. They had tents and haulers at Bristol. I wish it would go away, but I don't see that happening with the money they're saving from all the fuel for the merchandise haulers and individual payroll for the drivers and hotel rooms for 3 or 4 nights a week.
